Wedding Season
It has been a busy wedding season and I have neglected the blog, but I just wanted get on here to share some of my favourite photos from one of our most recent weddings.

Congratulations Jacquie & Anthony!  That was the most fun I have ever had at a reception.

I recently started working with Gracom Masonry producing architectural exteriors of the local buildings that they have worked on.  Below are the first few images; there will be many more to come.

Our country romance
We were traveling in the Lower Mainland and took an afternoon to enjoy Campbell Valley Park, the place where my wife and I spent most of our time courting each other with walks in the park over 8 years ago.  Like always, I took the opportunity to shoot some glamorous photos of Katherine, Bella and even let the camera be turned on me.

Ryan & Christine's engagement session
I had a great time working with this couple. They were fun, outgoing and willing to do anything I ask; a photographer's dream!
I really look forward to shooting their wedding on August 29th.

Vedanta Academy Grad Portraits
For the third year in a row now, I have had the opportunity to work with a small group of outstanding grads from Vedanta Academy in Kelowna.  This year, seven unique and vibrant seniors rocked the camera with me to produce some ultra-glam Okanagan style portraits.

Wild Festival for Youth
Once again, I have offered my services to support this great event, which educates school kids on their wildlife neighbors, as well as promoting the fine arts and poetry of children through Robert Bateman's "Get To Know" program.  The children actively built bird boxes, learned to catch and release trout, and met many bird-of-prey species. What an exciting event for all attending; it was a joy to photograph!

Marketing for Center Stage Speaker Bracket
Lately, I have been doing so much branding for my clients. It's strange; when I went into art school it was my goal to become an art director.  I worked my way into a job at one of the biggest ad agencies in Canada; however, decided after graduating that I would pursue photography.  Somehow this path had taken me full cycle.

Tyler Gerace is an inspiring individual who has developed a product that he is putting to market and has hired me to produce some artistic product photos of his speaker bracket.  That has developed into a relationship where we developed a logo, packaging label, and website.  Please visit his newly launched website www.centerstagebracket.com and pass the word around to any home theatre aficionado.

Gala of Hope fundraiser for the Canadian Cancer Society www.galaofhope.ca
This is my third year donating my services to the Gala & what a fun event!  My wife loves getting dolled up for these big galas.  It is so important to us to be able to offer our services to help the society in any way we can.  Two and a half years ago we lost our brother in law and best friend Dr. Jeff Gawron to tongue cancer, so this is where everyone else's stories really touch our heart.

Long time coming
My wife Katherine & I have been traveling on the east coast and caught up in life's whirlwind. Strangely it has been a couple months since my last blog entry, so my belated new years resolution is to definitely keep the blog images coming.  Here is some of the great architecture in St. John & Charlottetown & a few travel snapshots too.

I had a cool opportunity to shoot a new magazine cover and editorial featuring Hal Griffin from our local Interior Health and all the high tech systems implemented to manage the data in our local hospitals.

The Welsh Family
Being able to capture the transition of little Ewan Welsh from pregnancy to just after birth was an amazing experience. Here are the final designs for the Welsh family wall portraits that will be displayed up to 44" wide in their home. Ewan and big sister Sydney will grow up seeing how much they are adored!

Viking Chic
My wonderful wife Katherine asked me to do a quick shoot to show off her new haircut. She calls it “Viking Chic.” Here are some the images that I came up with:

Ice Climbing!
Just on this last Sunday I went ice climbing with my friend Aaron on his birthday for the first time.  What a Blast!  We first took a hike up Bear Creek and checked out to see if the ice falls there were ready to climb.  The ice was not ready to climb, but my dog Bella had an awesome time playing with Steve's dog, Yukon...

Next on the list was the ice tower at Apex Ski Resort, just outside of Penticton.
Click here to check out the pictures in this gallery I made for my friends.
P.S.- I only brought along a 50mm f1.4 lens; it's a bit limiting, but always always my favorite lens to use

facebook or blog - today's big question
I have had the desire to share my current imagery and life experiences in a blog for a while now and have been holding back from taking the plunge because facebook has been calling me.  I have withheld my urges and have finally decided that facebook is evil. Not for its great ability to connect old friends, but for the all consuming nature of it. Katherine, my wife, is an eager facebooker, but I have promised myself that I cannot allow the facebook plague to consume my few spare minutes that I have for play.

So my goal is that whenever I have exciting new images to share or something great in my life that I just want to blurt out I will voice it here. Let me know what you think.

To the right is a recent image that I shot of Katherine in the light of facebook. >>
